A friend of mine sent me this. At the time I originally posted it, I said “I am wary of posting any video about Iran and saying it is “good,” given my only cursory knowledge of the region’s history.” That said, it seemed to me like a good watch.
I didn’t know, for instance, that the Iran Hostage Crisis led to the creation of Nightline.
Since my original posting I’ve learned much more about the history of Iran, and this video summarizes it well. If you’re looking for some good audio talks, there are a couple from Alternative Radio that are informative; most notably this one from Stephen Kinzer.
